How do i choose a size for my jewellery?Rings: Please make sure you provide md with the correct size when you order your ring. I advise that you have your finger measured professionally by a jeweler local to you- this is the most accurate and reliable way. Alternatively, if this is not possible, you can purchase a ring sizer from our website to use at home, but please follow these tips to get the best result: The ring sizer works like a belt. Push the end through the buckle to form a ring shape. Put the ring sizer on your finger and adjust to give a comfortable fit, checking that is snug enough not to fall off, but loose enough to slip back over the knuckle. Measure your finger several times throughout the day, when you feel a normal body temperature, before settling on your size. This is because our fingers shrink and swell at different times in the day (i.e first thing in the morning and last thing at night) and depending on if you feel hot or cold. If you are buying a surprise gift and cannot use a ring sizer/get measured, the best way to determine ring size is if you borrow an existing ring from the correct finger and take it to a local jeweler to get it measured. Alternatively you can email me and i can help you work out the size by measuring the internal diameter with a ruler- meg@popsandpearl.co.uk Bracelets/Anklets: Please use a tape measure to provide me with your actual wrist/ankle size flush to the skin with no room added on. Necklaces/Chokers: Please use a tape measure to work out the length you would like your necklace and crystal to sit Please click the Sizing link at the bottom of the website for more info.

Ive ordered the wrong size ring- can i get it resized? If you order the incorrect size and the ring needs adjustment, please email meg@theshadowedpearl.co.uk with your order number and I will confirm if the re size is possible, the cost with link for payment and return details. I will personally resize the ring to fit the new measurement you advise and so there will be a cost for the work involved between £10-£50 approx dependent on the ring design. Unfortunately not all rings can be resized, such as rings with stones, rings with a particular pattern/detail, its design, the work it requires or how many sizes it needs adjusting by. I can only resize rings larger or smaller by a max of 2 sizes, otherwise too much strain is put on the ring. What about necklaces/chains? Please drop me an email if the chain length is not right for you and I will see what I can do, as my chains are made to order at your chosen length, exchanges are therefore not always possible. If I am not able to offer you an exchange, I may recommend adding/removing links for a small charge.

Is your jewellery hallmarked?A Hallmark shows that an item has been independently tested by a UK assay office to determine its precious metal content. It also guarantees provenance by telling you where the piece of jewellery was hallmarked, what the jewellery is made from, and who sent the piece for hallmarking. The Shadowed Pearl is a registered jeweller with the London Assay Office and my Full Traditional Hallmark shows five marks: The Shadowed Pearl Sponsor's mark Traditional fineness mark Millesimal fineness mark Assay Office mark Date letter mark Sterling silver does not require hallmarking by law unless a single piece weighs over 7.78 grams. My underweight pieces are not routinely hallmarked and the majority of my silver jewels will weigh under 7.78 grams and just have a single .925 sterling silver mark applied as standard. Anything that weighs more than 7.78 grams will be sent to the London Assay Office to have my full traditional hallmark applied. I am more than happy to arrange for an underweight silver item to be fully hallmarked on request. Simply let me know you would like your item hallmarking in the notes section when completing your purchase, but please be aware that this will add an additional 2 weeks to the lead time and will incur an extra charge. I will get in touch with you to discuss if needed.
